Community Service
I've always believed in giving back to my community, but lately it's gotten out of hand.
I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the New Milford Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Housatonic Area Regional Transit Agency, and I'm an elected member of the Town of New Milford Zoning Commission.
I am a founding member, and Chairman, of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization--the New Milford River Trail Association (nmbikewalk.org), and I also chair the Town of New Milford’s Bike & Trail Committee. Both entities are charged with making walking and biking safer and easier, primarily through the creation of a greenway trail that's planned to follow the Housatonic and Still Rivers from one end of town to the other. The conceptual map for this project is on the left.
My efforts have been recognized with awards from the Connecticut Greenways Council and Bike Walk Connecticut, as well as numerous newspaper articles.
